How do I that in E-M1 Mark ii

I like the default settings in E-M1, These are mine fine tunings. Though I do it and change, if I want to go back it’s like a maze, go through every level and find out where it is. Here’s the cheat sheet for my most commonly used.

What ? How ?
1) Focus Peaking with Manual Focus D3->Disp/../PC ->Peaking settings
2) Change color of Peaking D3->Disp/../PC ->Peaking settings
Or Info button
3) Hiding Information in [HDR/Self Timer] D1-.Disp/../PC ->Self timer icon
4) Change the Function of Fn2 button B->Button Function->Fn2->Multi Function.
Hold and rotate the back dial function.  To use that function, press and release the Fn2 button
5) Keep it stealthy D4->Beep->Off
b. Af assist off
A2->AF Illuminator (4th) -> Off
c. Silent Shutter
HDR/shutter/timer button on On Off switch -> Shutter with heart
6) View the gird/ change the grid D3->Grid Settings
7) Display Histogram, level gauge
Most needed, but tough one to figure it out
D1->Info setting (2nd) -> LV-Info(3rd) -> Custom 1 -> Level/Historgram
8) Change what’s in Multi Function F2 button D1->Multi Function settings. (Disabled color creator , Image aspect, which I hardly use
9) Options in HDR/timer button in the On/Off control D1->Timer settings(4th)
10) Back Button  focus A1->AEL/AFL ->S3/C2/M3
10) Disable Back Button  focus A1->AEL/AFL ->S1/C2/M2
11) Tripod Setting to C1 a. ISO 64/200
b.Image stabilization Off
c. Hi Res Mode on
d. Image file to 50M + Raw
e.Face Priority OffCamera1 ->Reset Custom Modes -> Assing to C1.

How to assign custom settings to C1

It could be any settings you want.. for me.

  1. I start with Aperture Priority
  2. Changed following settings
    1. ISO Low
    2. WB auto
    3. Shooting Mode Hi-Res
    4. File 50M + Raw
    5. Change the Aperture also to 5.6 ( In case I forgot, will be good enough to kepp
    6. Adobe RGB ( I hardly touch the raw with , since I am mostly likely to print with my own printer, I will keep in sRGB for sharing in web, or sending to lab)
    7. I also enable Level and Histogram (Step 7 above)Screen Shot 2017-03-10 at 11.30.37 AM.png
  3. Click on Menu, Showing 1 , Reset/ Custom Modes
  4. Screen Shot 2017-03-10 at 11.30.43 AM.png
  5. Assign to Custom Mode
  6. Screen Shot 2017-03-10 at 11.30.47 AM.png
  7. Set..
  8. Screen Shot 2017-03-10 at 11.31.14 AM.png
  9. Ok.

Now no matter what setting I’m on, just changing to C1 brings back all these settings. So accidental shooting of ISO 6400 with the tripod, or missing Hi-Res shot.

  1. Hi, new to EM1 Mk2. Like your website.

    Can you explain how you set C1 to be all the settings (a to e) in Item 11 for Tripod use? I assume aim if whenever I switch dial to C1 these setting are selected.

    Regards,
    Brad
